Mindfulness for Children K-12

Teach your child (ren) mindfulness mediation in the privacy of your home. Four and Eight week programs available!

The Mindful Center Knoxville is now offering at-home, one-on-one, mindfulness programs for children K-12.

Children today are exposed to an ever-increasing amount of stress.

They live with busy schedules, in a constant state of multitasking, in-taking an unhealthy amount of social and visual media, and in constant pressure to perform academically and socially.

All of this is resulting in an increase of diagnosis of ADHD, depression, anxiety, GI distress, eating disorders, impulsive behaviors, social struggles, and so much more.

As a parent, what can you do?

One answer is mindfulness meditation.

Although the clinical research on mindfulness meditation and child development is still in its infancy, the amount of clinical research conducted on adults is overwhelmingly positive.

An ongoing, daily, meditation practice can reduce:

– Anxiety
– Depression
– Scattered mind
– Blood pressure
– Sleeping issues

All while increasing:

+ Calm
+ Concentration
+ Problem solving
+ Compassion
+ Emotion regulation

In these private, one hour sessions, your child (ren) will learn the life-skill of mindfulness meditation. A life-skill that is non-religious, practical, and powerful.

They will learn how to calm their mind and body by cultivating a mindful awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations.  This can lead the child to relate to the unpleasant and stressful experiences in their lives with a new form of understanding…one rooted in compassion, patience, and acceptance.

-mindfulness of breathing
-working with our attention
-how to flow with change
-calming the mind calming the body
-concentration meditation
-mindful eating
-body awareness and relaxation
-learning emotions
-mindfulness and the brain
-naming our emotions
-befriending ourselves and others

As a parent, you will receive a 20 page guide including daily meditations for your child (ren), resources for mindful parenting, phone & email support,  and a discount to upcoming programs offered from The Mindful Center Knoxville.
