Join the Director of The Mindful Center, Michelle DuVal, and the owner of The Dragon Rising Studio in Santa Fe, Sean Tebor, as together they host an insightful inquiry into perspectives on this thing called Wisdom…what it is, how to cultivate it, and the unbelievable spirit of confidence and ease that we can develop through wisdom based practices.
Sometimes we feel like Wisdom isn’t a part of our daily life….we are just trying to get by rather than live a life that’s wise….
Everyone on some level can relate to that statement. Wisdom seems so over the top, reserved for sages and gurus and without a place in the rush of modern life. But this is incorrect. Wisdom is accessible to everyone, it is for everyone, and some would even say it’s our true nature. Wisdom can be touched into through meditation and inquiry, and this day retreat will be an opportunity to hear some of the fundamental wisdom teachings from both the meditative and yogic traditions, intersperced with meditation and yogic practice. We will learn, and then we will do.
This retreat is designed for both beginner and the more experienced meditator and yogic practitioner, but some prior meditation training will be helpful, as there will be no introductory level instruction on how to meditate.
This retreat will fill up fast, so please don’t hesitate to join us.
About The Teachers
Michelle DuVal is the owner and lead instructor of The Mindful Center and has devoted her life to teaching and inspiring others to practice mindfulness and meditation. She is the largest single provider of mindfulness trainings in the Southwest, and her programs can be found at the New Mexico Heart Institute, Presbyterian Healthplex, UNM Center for Life, Sandia National Labs, Albuquerque Public Schools, Evolutions Family Counseling, and more. She also provides Mindfulness Based Workplace Workshops across New Mexico for small and big organizations alike, with past clients including Comcast, PNM, Flying Star, the Department of Energy, UNM Child Services, and many others. She is the proud (and exhausted!) mother of twin 3 year olds, which give her plenty of opportunity for practice.
Sean Tebor inspires intuitive movement through the progressive application of yoga as a path for integration and embodiment. His teaching is supported by years of exploration into the science and art of core-oriented expression and structural integrity. Sean is a companion, holding a deep space within which practitioners may appreciate a most body-appropriate, dynamic, and healing way into their essential nature. Sean’s deep practice over the past 13 years began after a 17 year journey into the martial arts, where he first discovered his passion for conscious movement and integration. Sean can be found holding classes, dancing, and playing with his partner Munay and the community at their Santa Fe, New Mexico based studio Dragon Rising.
