This meditation is #2 in the pain series designed for the research project at the University of New Mexico and allows the practitioner to establish a firm connection to the breath, which is critical for maintaining calm states throughout our days, especially when we are in pain.  Typically when we “lose our breath,” physical and mental tensions have risen and pain tends to spike as well.  Consistent use with this meditation can help make it easier to “find our breath.”  It’s short length makes it approachable for just about anyone, and you can use it as part of the series or on its own.
