If you’ve ever checked out mindfulness, there’s this meditation called The Body Scan that everyone seems to be doing. My father first developed his meditation practice with the Body Scan after years of intensely painful stomach issues propelled him into meditation, and after he developed some skill with it, he never had another stomach episode again.

So what’s the deal with this practice that seems to be at the axis of mindfulness practice?

I’m a big believer in the Body Scan for a few main reasons.
It enlivens the conversation between the brain and the body.
It enables us to develop some degree of skill with our wandering minds.
It helps us develop an experiential understanding of what it means to be present.

In the video below, I go into more detail on these 3 key benefits. If we’re going to spend time doing something, it’s important to we know why we’re doing it. A deeper understanding of the Body Scan can inspire you to practice with it, and I’ve seen many a person – including my father – experience terrific benefit through it’s consistent use. I have a few versions of the practice in my Guided Meditation store, or you can find a free recording on our YouTube channel …..***….
Hope so much this brings you benefit!
With love,
Michelle
