Sundays, March 24 – April 14
Ages 4-6:  2:15 – 3:00pm
Ages 7-12:  3:30 – 4:30pm
Ages 13 – 17:  5 – 6pm

In this four week program, your child will learn a mindfulness-based approach to working with their mind and bodies through meditation, yoga, activities, and play. They will develop a set of inner life skills that will educate and inform them as they progress through the many stages of their personal development.

Each week, we will explore a different topic of mindfulness meditation and how it can be applied to improve your child’s focus, concentration, emotional regulation, and pro-social behavior.  All teachings are non-religious, educational, and grounded in the science of the mind, body, and brain.

Please note that a parent or guardian is encouraged to attend all classes.

“As a meditation instructor, I try to share with children how mindfulness can be their lifelong friend. A friend they can grow with, and call upon, no matter what they are facing in their lives. Although mindfulness will not make all your child’s problems go away, it will provide them with a set inner tools to handle these problems with a little more grace, wisdom, and resilience. This is the transformative power of this four week program.
I encourage parents to be part of this journey. As a parent, it is too easy to fall into the busyness of life. As much as we want the very best for our children, we sometimes get caught in autopilot, rushing through life, forgetting to take proper care of our minds and bodies. It is for this reason why we encourage your attendance at this program. As a parent, you have a wonderful opportunity to learn and teach mindfulness.”

Settling the Mind on the Breath Meditation

Breathing can be an immediate tool for calming the central nervous system. This short meditation can be done anytime, anywhere you want to take things down a notch and ease your stress.

SLEEP ISSUES
Body Scan for Relaxation

The next best thing to sleep is rest. If you can use this meditation to help you move into a state of rest, you are at least now moving in a good direction. So don't be discouraged if it doesn't put you right to sleep. Use it to put you to rest, and then see what happens.
