Some Golden Nuggets of MBSR

Over my 18+ years of teaching this extraordinary program, certain teachings rise to the surface again and again....these are what I call some of the golden nuggets of MBSR.
Here are just a few of them (scroll down to watch the video):

–It will never bring your life into greater balance to continue to ignore your body.

–Stress is the tension that rises between how things are and how we want them to be.

–Living out of alignment with reality is one of the most painful ways to live.

–Presence is one of the ways that acceptance functions.

–Meditation is learning how to more skillfully use your own mind to create benefit, both for yourself and the world around you.

–Meditation is also about learning how to not believe all of your thoughts, thereby changing your relationship to them.

Check out this 6 minute video detailing some basic functionality of your brain and how mindfulness changes the structure of your brain to help you feel happier and more at ease in the world.
