Did you know you can use your mind in such a way so as to be able to remember some of the smaller, precious moments of life, with less focus on the bigger, negative stuff?
Neuroscience can now show us very clearly how we create long term memories, and what has to happen is specifically what we practice in mindfulness.
Do this: at the end of a day, ask yourself what are the top 3 things you remember. Notice what rises to the surface. Typically it’s things like:
I worked
I picked the kids up from school
I cleaned the garage
I watched Netflix
I made dinner….
Man, I get the doldrums just from reading that list! It’s all the mundane stuff of life….
Then do the practice of the Mini Soak that I teach in this video for a couple of days, and then ask yourself the same question. And again, see what rises to the surface.
This practice touches into the mind’s ability to shape our memories….if only we know how to use it. 🙂
I hope it helps!
With tons of love,
Michelle
